About Yadhu

Yadhu Urs is a Saint Lucian professional golfer whose path through the game has taken him from the Caribbean to collegiate golf in the United States and, now, into the professional ranks.

Born in Bangalore, India, on May 30, 2003, Urs moved away while still very young and was raised in Saint Lucia, the country he considers home and represents in international competition. Now based in Florida, he is building the next chapter of his career as a professional golfer.

Golf became a serious pursuit at around 14, when his father introduced him to the game at the St. Lucia Golf Club in Cap Estate, then the island's only golf course. His father became his first teacher and an enduring influence on his development, laying the foundation for a game that soon progressed from monthly club medals to international competition. In 2018, Urs made his first trip abroad for a junior tournament, competing in the Republic Bank Junior event in Trinidad.

His golf eventually brought him to the United States. Following the 2020 Latin America Amateur Championship, Urs joined Wheeling University in West Virginia, arriving on a campus he had never visited after the COVID-19 pandemic prevented a traditional recruiting experience. The transition was substantial: from the Caribbean to West Virginia, from year-round golf to cold-weather competition, and from junior golf to the demands of the collegiate game.

Urs later transferred to Ohio Dominican University in Columbus, Ohio, a move that would define the most accomplished period of his college career. Regular rounds at the demanding, tight confines of Hickory Hills Golf Club helped refine his accuracy, course management and shot selection, while collegiate competition shaped a more complete and resilient player.

Those years also helped establish the identity that continues to define his game today: analytical without being rigid, creative when the situation demands it, and at his best when competition becomes uncomfortable. After completing his collegiate career, Urs turned professional in May 2026 and now represents Saint Lucia as he pursues the next level of the game.

Playing Style

Urs approaches golf as a problem to be solved rather than a blueprint to be followed. Pragmatic and analytical by nature, he studies what a course asks of him and builds his strategy around the strengths of his game, adapting his approach as conditions and situations change.

Accuracy has long been the foundation of his game off the tee, a strength he has maintained while adding distance throughout his development. Around the greens, creativity is equally important. Urs is comfortable manufacturing shots when the straightforward option is not available, pairing a strong short game with confident putting and a willingness to trust what he sees.

That adaptability extends to the mental side of the game. Mistakes are dealt with quickly rather than carried from one shot to the next, allowing him to reset and remain engaged in the challenge in front of him. Competition has always brought out his best, particularly when the pressure rises and execution matters most.

As he has transitioned into professional golf, Urs has become increasingly deliberate about separating preparation from performance. Technical work belongs on the practice ground, in training and during the warm-up; competition is about simplifying. His goal is to step onto the course with a single feel, trust his preparation and athleticism, and react instinctively to each situation — an approach rooted in the freedom and competitiveness that characterized some of his best collegiate golf.

Beyond the Course

Away from competition, Urs has pursued an academic path with the same analytical mindset he brings to golf. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Data Analytics, an educational background that complements the measured, problem-solving approach evident in his game.

Professional Journey

The professional chapter begins.

Yadhu turned professional in May 2026. His first tournament as a professional was the Caddy Comps Trophy at Seacroft Golf Club in Skegness, England — the start of a new chapter after a collegiate career that took him through Latin America, the Caribbean and across the United States.

He went on to compete on the Clutch Pro Tour during 2026, gaining experience in professional competition. He is now based in Florida, where he continues to train and returns to regular competition through mini-tour events while working toward earning status at a higher level of professional golf.

Yadhu's goal is to compete on the PGA Tour and to represent Saint Lucia at the highest levels of the game. Over the next 18 months, his objective is to earn playing status on a significant professional tour and progress beyond the mini-tour level — with the Clutch Pro Tour remaining one possible avenue among others as he works toward that goal.

Defining Moments

The moments behind the results.

2022

A Breakthrough at the LAAC

Two years after opening his first Latin America Amateur Championship with rounds of 95 and 93, Urs returned in 2022 a considerably different player. Rounds of 73 and 75 — a 40-shot improvement over his first two rounds in 2020 — took him through to the weekend and made him the first Saint Lucian golfer to make the cut at the championship. He ultimately finished T34, marking an important step forward on one of amateur golf's biggest stages.

2023

Six Under to Win

After taking the opening-day lead at the Bud Elwell Fall Classic in difficult conditions, Urs found himself three shots behind with nine holes remaining in the final round. He responded by playing the closing nine in six-under par, turning the three-shot deficit into a four-shot victory. It became his first and only individual collegiate tournament win and one of the strongest closing stretches of his college career.

2025

A Place at Nationals

With qualification for the NCAA Division II National Championship on the line, Urs entered a playoff at the Midwest/Central Regional. He began the playoff birdie, par, eagle, producing his best golf with his collegiate season hanging in the balance and securing his place at the National Championship. The result extended his final collegiate season onto the national stage.
